WHAT HEALTH BENEFICIARIES SAY
“In this community women used to give birth at home because there was no health clinic. Because of that in every month one mother would die, while for a year eight to twelve mothers were losing their lives from delivery complications. After the introduction of mother and child care, now the number of women delivering at the health clinic has been big. But more importantly is that, for the past six years we had only 4 mother and 3 children death incidents.”
– Thomas Samson Inchimbe, Nurse Incharge of the Dispensary
The dispensary reduced the number of hours that we had to walk to Wasso carrying our kids on our backs to access medical care for ourselves and our children. We thank everyone who played a role in building this dispensary.
– Nookimunyak Kioki, mother
We are very thankful to FOTZC for this gift [medical dispensary] to the community, bringing services closer to the people.”
– Stephen Kebwe, Deputy Minister of Health
First of all we thank Thomson Safaris and FOTZC. We thank the donors who built this dispensary. The area is growing and this is one of the best dispensaries in my district. It's a good example for other dispensaries – they are giving very nice service. The general health of the community is not bad so much, compared to before.
If we address and empower people, we will reduce the problem of malnutrition so much. If people are not in good health, they cannot work. Everything is health. If you do not have the good health, you cannot work or do anything.
So now it has improved so much. People are getting education, people are coming to the hospital. People bring children; we do vaccinations. When children are vaccinated they don't get as many diseases as before so they can go to school and be happier and smarter, understand teachers, so we would have a very good and better community.
– Dr. Revocatus Ndyekoborad, District Medical Officer
